About China Health Atlas, our sources and how we update
What this site is
China Health Atlas is an independent, English-language information site for foreigners who are considering medical care in China. We publish a hospital directory, price comparisons, practical guides and free tools.
What this site is not
- We are not a hospital, clinic, medical tourism agency or broker.
- We do not take commissions or payments from hospitals, and we do not book appointments or arrange treatment.
- We do not recommend individual doctors or make claims about treatment outcomes.
- Nothing on this site is medical, legal or immigration advice.
Where our information comes from
We use official sources first: national government agencies (immigration, foreign affairs, healthcare security), city government medical guides for foreigners, and hospitals' own listings. For prices we use official price rules where they exist, and published price lists otherwise, and we say which is which. US prices come from published cost surveys and estimates.

How we update
- Every fact links to its source, and every page shows the date we last checked those sources.
- Visa and transit rules are kept in a single dataset. When a rule changes, we update it once and every page and the checker change together.
- We re-check visa rules when new announcements are published, and review hospital listings and prices regularly. The check date on each page shows when that last happened.
- If we can't find a reliable price, we publish a range with its source, or nothing — we don't estimate silently.

Planning treatment in China? Tell us what you need
Tell us what you are looking for. We use these requests to decide which hospitals, cities and prices to research next. We do not reply with quotes and we do not book appointments.
